Lot of the three best olive oils in Spain based on the award "Alimentos de España al Mejor Aceite de Oliva Virgen Extra Campaña 2015-2016" granted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, composed of a 500 ml bottle of each of the following brands:
Finca la Torre, organic hojiblanca:
Oro Bailén, reserva familiar, picual
Castillo de Canena, reserva familiar, picual
Finca la Torre: Intense fruity aroma of freshly cut grass and olive leaf. Bitter taste, progressive and persistent spiciness with hints of green almond, apple, and banana peel. Complex and balanced.
Oro Bailen, reserva familiar, picual: It presents an intense and complex green fruity aroma, in which distinct aromas of tomato (characteristic aroma of picual), apple, freshly cut grass, green banana, green almond, etc. can be appreciated. What stands out in this oil is its balanced bitterness and spiciness, very pleasant. Its entry in the mouth is sweet, leaving a sensation of greenness and freshness when tasted.
Castillo de Canena, reserva familiar, picual: Its intense green color corresponds to the green fruity aroma of the olive. Great olfactory complexity. The smell of freshly cut grass and aromatic plants such as basil, thyme, or mint are softened and nuanced with the elegance and delicacy of notes of tomato, green spike, and fresh fruits like green apple or banana peel.
In the mouth, it presents a huge expressive power. Correspondence with the olfactory notes, great balance between bitterness and spiciness, which are not very noticeable. Very structured, persistent, and harmonious.
