Mate cocido (in Portuguese chá mate) is a typical infusion of the gastronomies of the countries of the Southern Cone of America: Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Chile, with an important consumption in Paraguay. Mate cocido is obtained when yerba mate is dissolved in hot water (by different cooking methods), the result is a transparent green aromatic liquid, with a mild bitter taste, whose color can vary to more or less dark depending on the concentration of yerba mate dissolved in water.

How to use:
