The bertorella, also known as rock brotola, is a white and saltwater fish, although depending on the season and its size it is also considered a semi-fatty fish. They live in sandy or muddy bottoms between 20 and 600 meters. It is a nocturnal fish. During the day it hides in caves and at night it comes out to hunt. It is a solitary fish that rarely groups together. Its meat is delicate and not very consistent but good, with a taste similar to hake
