Table sweetener based on xylitol (birch sugar)
Traditionally, xylitol has always been used in Finland as a sweetener derived from birch bark to prepare all kinds of pastries.
Xylitol is a good substitute for common sugar as it provides a similar taste and sweetness level but contains approximately 40% fewer calories.
When consuming food and drinks sweetened with xylitol instead of sugar:
