The black trumpet, also known as the trumpet of the dead or truffle of the poor, is characterized by its black color and funnel shape.
This very aromatic and deeply flavored mushroom can be used in a multitude of dishes, such as rice and pasta dishes, meat stews, with poultry and game, or as a garnish along with other mushrooms.
To cook these mushrooms, hydrate them in warm water for at least 40 minutes, they will double their volume and will be ready to cook. We can reserve that water for stews or risottos.
Origin: Spain
Scientific name: Craterellus Cornucopiodes.
