Manzanilla Leona is a generous wine with a soft straw yellow color and a dry, fresh and delicate flavor. The wine is made from 100% Palomino fino grapes and aged for an average of 8 years in 150-year-old American oak barrels. Its aging, which takes place under a layer of yeasts calledvelo de flor, is carried out exclusively in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), and more specifically, in a winery located just a few meters from the mouth of the Guadalquivir River. The special climatic conditions of the city favor the development of a veil of flor that is unique in the world. As a result, the wine acquires unique and differentiating characteristics.
