"A great wine is a terroir and the man to reveal it, elevate it, and transmit it..." Hubert de Boüard de Laforest.
The Angélus style is the union of a daring grape variety with an exceptional terroir. It is the unique character born from the south-facing slope of Saint-Emilion and its high proportion of cabernet franc that we delight in finding in each vintage. It is a reorchestrated composition every year, always in search of excellence.
2016 is an excellent vintage at Angélus. Excellent due to the subtle balance between power and refinement: intense aromas of ripe and crisp fruits, a smooth and direct attack, tight and velvety tannins, great purity. We find the charm of a sunny vintage, with a touch of flamboyant classicism, one could say baroque, in harmony with the elegance and breed brought by the freshness and tension of the persistent finish.
