Haut-Bailly is one of the few Pessac-Léognan estates that only produces red wines. The 2012 vintage of Château Haut-Bailly was named by the property itself: The Virtuoso. Tasting notes by Robert Parker: Haut-Bailly 2012 is an incredibly great wine, with a superb bouquet of pencil shavings, blueberries, black raspberries, and blackcurrants, and perhaps a touch of spring flowers. It is a medium to full-bodied wine with an almost seamless integration of oak, alcohol, and tannin. It is rich, concentrated, incredibly supple, and pure. This wine defines what is meant by flavor intensity. It should be drinkable fairly young but will age effortlessly for 25-30 years.
