Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieux Télégraphe is a white wine produced by Domaine du Vieux made in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the Southern Rhône, from Grenache blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Roussanne grapes.
Sourced from a single plot of vineyards ranging in age from 50 to 55 years old in the Crau, Vieux Telegraph's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is a blend that includes approximately 45% Clairette and 30% Grenache Blanc, with the remainder split evenly between Roussanne and Bourboulenc.
Two-thirds of the wine was aged in foudre, while the remaining third was aged in demi-muids, generating a nose with delicate honeyed nuances, accompanied by notes of toasted grain and gently warm pineapple. This full-bodied, creamy-textured wine is balanced by a subtle touch of bitterness on the lingering finish.
