The Speyside area is renowned for its single malt whiskeys and salmon fishing. In this triangle of fertile land, between the mountains and the sea, known as the Garden of Scotland, Cragganmore single malt whiskey is distilled. Located along the famous Salmon River, this distillery is considered by many to be the home of authentic Speyside whiskey. Its name, derived from the Gaelic "graggan mor" (large rock), dates back to its founding in 1869 in Ballindalloch by John Smith, a distiller with vast experience who employed innovative still design to produce his whisky.
Cragganmore 12 years matures in oak barrels to acquire its highly complex character, with sweet aromas of flowers, wood smoke, vanilla and intertwined cereals. On the palate, it offers an intense malt flavor and a long finish with distinctive cereal notes, smoky nuances and sweetness. It can be enjoyed alone or as a base ingredient in cocktails.
