Natural Decaffeination Process Wet green coffee beans are immersed in water for several hours. Thanks to the physical phenomenon of osmosis, the beans are decaffeinated and then dried with hot air. The caffeine is released into the liquid. The coffee beans are immersed in hot water and the liquid is filtered through a charcoal cloth.
