Domaine Matrot Meursault Blagny 1er Cru is a white wine made in Burgundy from Chardonnay by Domaine Matrot.
This exquisite wine has been made from carefully selected Chardonnay grapes. The vines, with an average age of 35 years, have brought their unique character to each cluster. The grapes are harvested by hand, at a time of perfect ripeness, which is meticulously determined. Once harvested, the whole grapes are pressed in a pneumatic press, ensuring a gentle and precise treatment.
After this stage, a 24-hour decanting is carried out, followed by clarification and racking into oak barrels. Alcoholic fermentation is precisely monitored, keeping the temperature under control to bring out the characteristic notes and aromas of this variety. Once completed, full malolactic fermentation takes place, further enriching the complexity of the wine.
The next stage is a month of resting in stainless steel tanks, where the wine is gradually prepared for bottling. If necessary, additional fining is carried out to ensure the purity and clarity of the wine.
It should be noted that organic farming practices are followed throughout the process, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and respect for the land.
This Meursault Premier Cru is unconventional. Its aromas are characteristic of the clay-limestone soil and in particular the limestone subsoil. On the nose you will notice a combination of flint and pure fruit. It is crisp, light and mineral, with a saline finish.
