Domaine Rostaing Les Lézardes is a 100% Syrah red wine from the Rhône, IGP Collines Rhôdaniennes produced by Domaine Rostaing.
Rene Rostaing owns one of the most important vineyard collections in the Côte-Rotie. Rene started making wine in 1971 and at that time had 1.5 hectares divided in the vertiginous hills of the Côte Blonde and La Landonne.
Today he has 7.1 hectares in Côte-Rotie and 1 ha in Condrieu. Luck has played an important part in the development of Rene's vineyard, as in 1990 he inherited the vineyard from his father-in-law Dervieux-Thaize and two years later from his uncle Marius Gentaz-Dervieux also inherited magnificent plots in the Côte-Brune.
Gentaz-Dervieux is considered the Henri-Jayer or the Noël Verset of Côte-Rotie, and his wines the most distinguished and long-lived examples of the appellation. The few remaining bottles, when they emerge, are capable of inducing Northern Rhône fanatics into a state of suggestion akin to hypnosis.
