Marqués de riscal Finca Montico verdejo is a white wine made to 100% with the Verdejo variety, which comes from an old vineyard located in the payment of the Montico, in the term of Rueda.
The wine remains in contact with its fine lees for at least four months. These lees or traces of inert yeasts are suspended by nitrogen, at least once a week.
This type of ageing on fine Lees, facilitates the release of a series of compounds that increase the body, the unctuosity and the complexity of the wine, besides improving its aromatic stability during its permanence in bottle. This style of white wines, despite not being fermented in casks, hold fresh and young for a longer period of time, maintaining all their varietal character.
Marqués de riscal Finca Montico Verdejo is a wine with a greenish-yellow colour.
The nose has a marked varietal aroma of Verdejo with an average intensity, notes of fennel, fine herbs, white flowers, pear and peach. In the mouth it is greasy, fresh, very unctuous and with a long and round finish. A good acidity along with a period of ageing on its finer lees, will keep it fresh in time and retain all its aromatic complexity. It is a wine that does not seek so much explosiveness in the nose, but a more varietal character, elegant and complex.
