Since 2001, Viñedos y Bodegas García Figuero is an outstanding reality. It produces wine with grapes from more than eighty hectares, a third of which are old vines over sixty years old. Tinto Figuero, Ribera del Duero , is recognized for its quality in Spain and in more than 25 countries where it can be tasted.
José María García was born in La Horra in 1936 into a family of winegrowers. Married in 1961 to Milagros Figuero, also from La Horra and from a family of winegrowers. They have three children: Carlos, Henar and Antonio, married to Esther, J. Felipe and Pilar. The whole family is involved in the vineyards and the winery.From an early age, at 12 years old, José María was already planting vines and taking care of the vineyard with care as his grandparents taught him, from whom he inherited the good work and patience.The grapes harvested were sold since 1968 to the best wineries in the region, mythical wineries, and at the end of the last century began to take shape the creation of the winery to produce their own wines.
