Fuentenebro Albillo is a white wine made from 100% Albillo Mayor grapes in Ribera del Duero by the Fuentenebro winery.
Fuentenebro is made from grapes coming from small plots with early budding and late harvesting, which allows for a slow and prolonged ripening. The grapes are harvested by hand and all the bunches are destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks and ageing in barrels is carried out for 10 months. Finally, the wine is stabilised, filtered and bottled.
In terms of tasting notes, Fuentenebro has a straw yellow colour with golden hues, which is bright and clean. On the nose, aromas of stone fruits, such as peach, stand out, as well as subtle notes of wood and fruit that allow us to appreciate the varietal aromas. There are also notes of non-roasted nuts, such as almonds and hazelnuts, together with light hints of vanilla and cinnamon. As the wine evolves in the glass, floral aromas of orange blossom and jasmine emerge.
In the mouth, Fuentenebro is fresh and intense, with a touch of acidity that enhances the aromas in retronasal, allowing us to appreciate the stone fruit and the subtle work with the wood again.
