Fuentenebro Rosado is a rosé wine made from 100% Tempranillo grapes in Ribera del Duero by the Fuentenebro winery.
The 2021 harvest in Ribera del Duero was of excellent quality, thanks to balanced weather conditions with average temperatures and adequate rainfall that allowed the vineyard to develop well. Although temperatures in the last months were more extreme than normal, this contributed to improve the quality of the grapes without compromising their health. The harvest took place in the first week of October.
This wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes from small plots of centenary vineyards located in the provinces of Soria and Burgos at an altitude of over 900 metres above sea level. The soil is superficial with a direct base of limestone rock, and the climate is one of extreme contrasts.
The grapes are harvested by hand and all the bunches are destemmed. After a short cold maceration, the must is extracted by bleeding and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Finally, it is stabilised, filtered and bottled.
This wine has an almost transparent pale pink colour and is bright to the eye. On the nose, it is clean and intense with aromas of sour strawberry and hints of cream. On the palate, it is light, fresh and with a slight acid note, which gives it a light passage.
