More information

This red wine from the D.O. Manchuela is produced by Bodega y Viñedos Ponce, a family project founded by Juan Antonio Ponce along with his father and brother in the late 90s. One of their main objectives is to showcase the virtues of native varieties such as Bobal, Moravia Agria, and Albilla, which are currently at risk of extinction. The vineyards of Moravia Agria (90%) and Garnacha Tinta (10%) are planted in the town of Villanueva de la Jara (Cuenca), on clay soils with a limestone base of sediments, at an altitude of between 600 and 700 meters above sea level. The continental climate of the area, with influences from the humid Levante winds and a marked thermal oscillation between day and night, promotes slow ripening and perfect formation of the grape's coloring matter. Buena Pinta undergoes aging in 600-liter French oak barrels for a period of 7 months, contributing to its complexity and structure.
