Seed or nut of the mature and dry fruit of Myristica fragans, oval in shape, brownish-gray in color, and smooth to the touch.

Spice used in cooking, appetizers, meats, sauces, eggs, and especially recommended in chicken stews. For sauces, like béchamel.

It should be used with caution as its flavor is very strong.
