Bark from certain evergreen trees. They are reddish-brown to leather brown canes, with a characteristic smell and flavor, sweet and somewhat pungent, which in this case we find in a ground form.
When in branch form, it is used in many sweet dishes and desserts, such as apple pie, rice pudding, or curries. Similarly, it pairs well with some drinks, such as sangria, spirit-based drinks, or hot chocolate. It can be used to flavor milk or tea.
