Júlia Bernet Brut Nature Rosé is a Corpinnat sparkling wine produced at the Júlia Bernet winery, located in Catalonia, and made from Xarel-lo and Grenache.
Júlia Bernet's personal project was started by Xavier Bernet in 2001, when he decided to stop selling grapes from the family vineyards in Subirats (Barcelona) to create his own wines and sparkling wines. This decision has resulted in limited productions of high quality with a marked indigenous character. Since 2018, Júlia Bernet has been part of the European Union's Collective Mark Corpinnat, a seal that guarantees the quality of organic sparkling wines.
It comes from the Garnacha variety of Garnacha grapes. Harvest 2020, harvested by hand and selecting the best grapes from the dry stone terraces.
The grapes are processed at low temperature, without sulphites and with a maceration with their skins for about 10 hours. They are then pressed to obtain the onion-skin colour, slightly oxidised, characteristic of this grape variety.
Natural fermentation with its own yeasts for about 3 weeks at about 16ºC.
In the second fermentation, must from the same vineyard is added to start fermenting, so that we obtain a sparkling wine with two fermentations with indigenous yeasts, without added sugars or sulphites.
Delicate effervescence, attributable to its prolonged ageing process. Its aroma is singular and complex, revealing the distinctive characteristics of the grape variety used.
On the palate, it has an unctuous, creamy texture, with subtle buttery nuances that add an extra dimension to its flavour profile.
