Laurent-Perrier Millésimé represents the choice of an exceptional, carefully selected vintage of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Grands Crus. This unique cuvée will be an integral part of a future iteration of Grand Siècle, an exceptional wine that captures the distinctive character of a Laurent-Perrier-style vintage.
The year 2015 was marked by extreme weather conditions: a mild, rainy winter followed by a contrasting spring, which included a period of sub-zero temperatures and a tumultuous summer. September, cool and dry, allowed the grapes to ripen perfectly.
In terms of vinification, blending and ageing, the grape varieties include 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay crus come from the Côte des Blancs, which includes Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cramant and Chouilly. The Pinot Noir crus originate from the Montagne de Reims, such as Bouzy, Ay, Verzy, Mailly and Rilly-la-Montagne.
In terms of sensory characteristics, the Millésimé presents a white gold colour with very fine and persistent bubbles.
The nose exhibits great complexity with notes of beeswax, candied lemon, honeysuckle and hawthorn followed by aromas of toast and orange. The attack is vibrant, giving way to a creamy, elegant palate with notes of candied lemon and honeysuckle.
Recommended serving temperature is between 9°C and 11°C. As for food pairing, the Brut Millésimé pairs well with a citrus scallop carpaccio, herb-crusted sea bass or roast chicken with citrus and gingerbread.
