We recommend taking approximately 1 ml (equal to 1 mg of melatonin), pure or diluted in water. The beneficial effect in reducing the time required to fall asleep is obtained by taking 1 mg of melatonin just before bedtime. The beneficial effect in alleviating the effects of jet lag is obtained by taking a minimum of 0.5 mg of melatonin on the first day of travel and for a few days after arriving at the destination just before bedtime.
