The red wine Numanthia is the flagship wine of Bodega Numanthia, made from Toro ink in the D.O. Toro.
The 2008 vintage of this wine was chosen as the Best Red Wine of Spain. In addition, Bodega Numanthia achieved 100 Parker points from the magazine "The Wine Advocate" with the Termanthia 2004.
It is an excellent red wine of the D.O. Toro made with the Tinta de Toro grape variety (100%).
Harvest: Exclusively by hand with rigorous selection of the bunches in perfect state of ripeness, between the 25th of September and the 10th of October.
Ageing: 18 months in 225L and 400L French oak barrels -60% new barrels and 40% second use barrels. Racking every 4 months.
The Numanthia wine has a ripe cherry colour with ruby reflections.
On the nose the wine is elegant, pleasant, fresh and deep, with hints of red berries, undergrowth, sweet spices and graphite.
On the palate, the entry is expressive, ample, amiable, fresh and sweet. The tannin is serious and ripe, well covered and with a great sensation of volume. Black fruit such as blueberries and blackcurrants, vanilla, cinnamon, graphite, nutmeg and hints of rosemary. Good acidity lengthens and allows this wine to age gracefully over the years.

On the nose, the wine is elegant, friendly, fresh, and deep, with notes of red berries, underbrush, a background of sweet spices, and graphite.
On the palate, the entry is expressive, wide, friendly, fresh, and juicy. The tannin is serious and ripe, well covered and with a great sense of volume. Black fruit such as blueberries and currants, vanilla, cinnamon, graphite, nutmeg, and hints of rosemary. Good acidity extends it and allows this wine to age gracefully over the years.
