This is a sweet, white ice wine. It comes from Canada and is considered a hybrid variety accepted for its quality ice wines. Pillitteri shows a dense, smooth texture, whose opulent sensation contrasts with its acidity and tropical fruit aromas.
The Pillitteris are a family of Sicilian origin who immigrated to Canada in the 1940s. In 1965 Gary Pillitteri and his wife bought a small farm in Niagara on the Lake, where they grew fruit. Finally in the 1990s they planted vineyards and founded a winery, becoming one of the references in the area.
Sweet wines such as Pillitteri have aromas of candied fruit and honey , creating a perfect match for desserts.
