Bodegas y Viñedos Labastida, presents us with the Red Wine Solagüen Carbonic Maceration from the Rioja Designation of Origin (Spain), made from 100% Tempranillo grape varieties.
Carbonic maceration is the ancestral method of winemaking in our area until the appearance of Manuel Quintano. This wine is a tribute to those growers who worked in this way for centuries.
THE GRAPE
Made from a selection of plots with an average age of 20 years and clay-limestone soil located at 500 meters above sea level.
THE HARVEST
The 2018 campaign was the latest in many years. The rains and snow were abundant in a cold winter that caused a delay from bud break that the vine did not recover throughout the cycle. The result: a fresh vintage with medium alcohol content and balanced acidity. Careful manual harvesting in crates to ensure the perfect condition of the fruit upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation in closed tanks with whole clusters for 12 days. Draining and gentle pressing using only the free-run juice or heart for the production of this wine.
