PLANTATION 5 is a Rum aged in American oak barrels for 4 years that have previously contained bourbon and from 1 to 2 years in Cognac Ferrand barrels in France.
Bright amber color. Bakery aromas, pipe tobacco, toasted marshmallow, black raisins, prunes. Slightly sweet on the palate with toasted notes, chocolate and spices. THE
DISTILLERY Cognac Ferrand is a cognac producer located in the Grand Champagne Cognac region of France. For years, this company has had a special relationship with a variety of Caribbean rum producers. This relationship is based on the rum producer's need to obtain quality oak barrels to age their rum. Based on this relationship, Cognac Ferrand can purchase certain unique Aged lots of rum from various Caribbean sources, which they bring back to France and end up at their own facilities in their own cognac barrels. To bring these special rums to the market, Cognac Ferrand created the line of rums known as Plantation Rum.
