Tignanello Antinori is a red wine made from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes in the Tuscany region of Italy by the Marchesi Antinori winery.
Produced only in the best vintages since 1971, Tignanello is a wine that has left its mark in the history of Italian winemaking. Not only was it the first to use Sangiovese in barrel, but it was also the first to modernise its blends with non-traditional varietals.
It is made with Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello, a historic property of the Antinori family that extends over 57 hectares of vineyards in the southwest on limestone soil at an altitude of 350 to 400 metres.
Tignanello is a very bright ruby red.
On the nose it impresses with the complexity of its first approach, highlighting red and black berries and sweet spices. It is followed by more masculine notes, leather and pipe tobacco, on a balsamic background, which adds depth to the whole.
On the palate it is full, clean and smooth, with a perfect balance between unctuousness and freshness.
