Tokaj Oremus Aszu 3 puttonyos is a sweet wine from Hungary. Aszú wines combine tradition, innovation and excellence, and become sublime wines with their roots in an unrepeatable land.
Aszú wine can only be made in years of excellent harvests, when nature provides favorable climatic conditions for the development, in the best conditions, of noble rot.
The 3 puttonyos in the title refers to the number of baskets (called puttonyos) of aszú grapes (the grapes dried by botrytis), of 25 kg capacity, which are mixed in the vat with 136 liters of conventional white wine, in which a slow fermentation takes place.
Tokaj Oremus Aszu 3 Puttonyos has a brilliant golden color with reflections, dense and sinuous tears. On the nose, clear honeyed notes, dried apricots but also hints of citrus, mainly mandarin, peach and pear. Light hints of fine pastries and cinnamon.
On the palate, the first thing that catches your attention, because it is unexpected, is a marked acidity that, together with the sweetness of the wine, makes a very, very pleasant combination. It enters the mouth powerfully, with intensity and breadth and remains there for a long time, very persistent and intense, reviving in the retronasal a fleshy memory of quince jam.
Aszú 3 Puttonyos is an elegant and fresh wine, with an acidity that makes it a vibrant and velvety wine at the same time.
