The Segovian distillery DYC celebrates its anniversary with a new limited edition that belongs to their collection: Maestros Destiladores. After DYC 12 years, comes their first expression of 15 years.
They say at DYC that the dream of Nicomedes García, its founder, was to create "the first Spanish whisky with ingredients from its land and under criteria of maximum quality in production." 60 years have passed and DYC remains faithful to those principles from its distillery in Palazuelos de Eresma.
DYC 15 is a single malt produced 100% in Spain. The spirit has aged in American oak barrels for 15 years. Of this new edition, there are only 12,857 bottles, bottled at 40% volume.
Whisky DYC 15 years Single Malt is a limited edition (it will never be produced again) that pays tribute to Nicomedes García, founder of Destilerías DYC, who after an exhaustive search found in Segovia a perfect place to make it possible. There, the most extraordinary cereal, the purest water from the Eresma river, and the altitude, more than a thousand meters above sea level, which influence the quality of the air and the speed of whisky evaporation, give this magnificent DYC 15 Years a different character.
DYC 15 has been awarded the Double Gold prize at the Sip Awards 2018. The image of DYC 15 is inspired by the Segovian distillery with the sgraffito on its label, a typical style of Segovia that is present in the Molino de Arco, the house where DYC was born. This is a unique whisky for collectors.
DYC 15 has just been awarded a medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirit Competition 2019.
