Ponte da Boga Blanco Lexítimo is a white wine made by Ponte da Boga with the indigenous variety blanco lexítimo on lees in the Ribeira Sacra D.O. in Galicia.
Ponte da Boga is the oldest winery in the Ribeira Sacra, a spectacular wine region in the Galician province of Orense. Founded in 1898, it enjoys a privileged location where ancestral varieties are located in hard-to-reach places that sometimes require harvesting by boat.
Ponte da Boga Blanco Lexítimo comes from a vineyard on the banks of the Miño River, where the vines grow in slate soils at 500 meters above sea level. These vines are of the ancestral white lexítimo variety, recovered through heroic viticulture, and are destined for the production of high-end wines.
The grapes of Ponte da Boga Blanco Lexítimo undergo cold maceration and then gentle pressing. The resulting must ferments in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, and finally the wine ages on its lees for 5 months.
Ponte da Boga Blanco Lexítimo is the first wine made 100% with the recovered white lexítimo variety in the Ribeira Sacra D.O. It is a white wine with a great aromatic richness and surprising acidity.
Pairing: Sushi, seafood, white fish, game.
