El Grillo y la Luna is a family project that was born in Barbastro, in 2007, with the aim of producing wines with soul, unique wines
With 5 different plots, they have different types of soils ranging from calcareous soils, alluvial soils with gravel or silt-clay soils, at altitudes of between 300 and 400 meters
They work a total of 48 hectares of vineyards with the premise that the wine is made in the vineyard. Thus, the wines are only released to the market at their optimum moment, respecting the uniqueness of the vintage as much as possible
They produce two lines of wines, 12 Lunas, a line of fresher and fruitier wines and El Grillo, more complex wines with more expression of the terroir
12 Lunas is a wine made from tempranillo, garnacha, syrah and cabernet sauvignon. Once harvested, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature between 25°C and 29°C (77°F and 86°F). Maceration lasts 2 to 4 weeks depending on the variety. Once the maceration is finished, the wine is aged for 9 months in French oak barrels
