Botón de Gallo Barrica is a white wine made with 100% Verdejo grapes in the D.O. Rueda, through the Dominio del Blanco winery.
This wine is a pure expression of Verdejo variety. A selection of the plots is made, these being Valdechimoza, an area located on the Camino de Ventoza, with stone-clay soils, and the famous area of Camino del Puerto, closest to the Duero River, with stone-clay-sandy soils.
The grapes used are carefully selected, culminating in the production of a unique must, 95% of which is a young Verdejo and the rest comes from the production of different fermentations in 500 liter barrels of the same variety. As for aging, 95% ferments for about 19 days in stainless tanks and then ages with its lees, 5% ferments for about 19 days in barrels.
At first glance, it has a lemon yellow color with green highlights, clean, bright and with glyceric tears. On the nose we appreciate an aromatic complex, clean and frank, of medium intensity where the notes of apricot, fennel, green almond shell, and anise stand out. Memories of freshly cut hay and small touches of smoke. Velvety and silky entry into the mouth with development towards great volume and structure. Long and tasty, with a fruity aftertaste, with a retro-nasal sensation even more intense than in its olfactory phase, highlighting vegetal and anise memories.
