What is seitan?
Seitan, also known as "vegetable meat", is a food product made from wheat gluten that resembles the texture of meat once cooked.
It is highly valued in plant-based diets for its significant protein content, low fat, and essential amino acids.
water, wheat flour*, wheat gluten*, shoyu* [water, soy, wheat, sea salt, koji (ferment)], tamari* (water, soy, sea salt, Mikawa mirin (fermented rice), barley flour and koji), kombu seaweed*, ginger* and garlic* (*from organic farming). May contain traces of mustard.
Seitan is ideal as a meat substitute, it can be used in pasta dishes as a ground meat substitute, breaded, with rice, in a stew, stir-fried, etc.
