Production
Gin Monkey 47 combines the great British traditions, the exoticism of India, and the indigenous purity of the German Black Forest. And yet, it is precisely this eccentricity that defines the enigmatic character of Montgomery Collins, the origin of Gin Schwarzwald. His childhood as the son of a diplomat in East Asia, his military career among the ruins of Berlin, and his home in the Black Forest provide the autobiographical background for a recipe that represents a bold combination of herbs and native berries from this lush forest and exotic Asian botanicals. Obtained through double distillation of grain plus a 3rd with the botanicals, and aged in clay vessels.
This is the gin that currently uses the most botanicals in its production. According to the manufacturer, there are 47 botanicals that are infused, with fresh blueberry being one of the highlights.
Gin Monkey 47 Tasting Note

Nose: It is a balanced and complex gin.
Palate: Dry, with intense juniper and citrus flavor, and a long lingering bitterness.
Recommended Serving
Gin Monkey 47 is not an easy gin to mix due to its great blend of aromas, therefore, it is best accompanied by traditional elements: premium tonic water (for example, 1724), lemon, and plenty of ice. It should be kept away from intense light and in places with a cool and constant temperature, in an upright position.
