Komasa Gin is a creation of Komasa Jyozo, a traditional spirits producer founded in 1883 on the island of Kyushu. With its new Komasa Gin line, the brand has put the focus on regional botanicals such as green tea and Sakurajima komikan, the world's smallest mandarin orange, to offer new and unprecedented flavors bursting with freshness.
Meticulously developed and blended by an expert team of craftsmen, it results in two spectacular gins that are destined to become a legend. Each gin in the Komasa line is made with a crucial ingredient from Japan's heritage: the world's smallest mandarin, Sakurajima komikan, or green tea.
Crafted from locally distilled shochu as the alcohol base, this atypical gin is composed of a bouquet of classic botanicals including juniper berries to which are added original ingredients such as Sakurajima Komikan, small Japanese mandarin and coriander. All elements are infused independently of each other to extract maximum aromatics.
Its complexity and aromatic power make Komasa Hojicha the only gin of its kind in the world. A base of shochu and juniper berry alcohol, complemented with Hojicha tea and coriander. Each ingredient is infused separately from the others to extract as much aroma as possible.
