Izarra is made from Pyrenean plants and flowers, honey and Armagnac, and is made from 13 varieties of plants. A distinction is made between Izarra Vert, Izarra Jaune and Izarra 54. Izarra was first produced in 1835 by Joseph Grattau. Grattau is also the founder of the distillery. The spirits are stored in oak casks and filtered again shortly before bottling. Izarra is also known as "the devil in a bottle" or as "green wave". x Izarra Jaune consists of 13 different plants and spices. Compared to Izarra Vert, Izarra Jaune has a lighter taste.
