Límite Sur de Ramón Bilbao is a wine that comes from an unknown place in the Sierra de Yerga, where the altitude tempers the heat of summer and the scourge of Cierzo and Levante is felt, with a clear Mediterranean influence. Aromatic shrubs such as rosemary and thyme predominate.
Limit South by Ramón Bilbao is a wine that comes from an unknown area in the Sierra de Yerga, where the altitude mitigates the summer heat and the impact of the Cierzo and Levante winds, with a clear Mediterranean influence. Aromatic shrubs such as rosemary and thyme prevail.
The landscape corresponds to the highest part of the eastern end of La Rioja with a clear Mediterranean influence. Thyme, rosemary, holm oak, etc.
Rodolfo Bastida, Technical Director and Winemaker of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao, has managed to convey the style and unique personality of Ramón Bilbao to a unique wine that explores new areas of Rioja.
The production of Limit South begins with a pre-fermentation maceration to preserve the floral aromas and color extraction. Fermentation takes place in concrete (with a percentage of stems to provide freshness and tannin) at 24ºC. Aging takes place in different materials (amphorae, 600l barrels, and concrete). Blending and aging in French oak barrels of 225l for 10 months.
It stands out for its high intensity ruby color, clean, bright, and with tears. On the nose, it is intense and complex, with notes of red fruit, freshness, flowers, pink pepper, and notes of undergrowth. When tasted, it is fresh, with good acidity and gentle tannins. A harmonious, balanced wine with a long finish.
