The Macán Clásico Magnum is an outstanding creation from the renowned wineries Rothschild & Vega Sicilia, located in the prestigious region of Rioja, Spain.
This limited edition red wine is a sample of the collaboration between two giants of the wine world and reflects the excellence and tradition of both houses.
Macán Clásico is a single-varietal wine, composed exclusively of Tempranillo grapes. The grapes come from plots with limestone soils and a sandy-clay profile. In this vintage, which was characterized by a warmer climate throughout the vine cycle, great concentration and power was expected. However, the 80 liters of rain that fell in September radically transformed the texture of the skins, going from being dry to having a firm but noble texture. This vintage allowed for soft extractions, almost infusions, and nature provided its full potential. In terms of aging, the impact of American oak wood was reduced and toasts that provide freshness were favored.
View: Bright ruby red with purple highlights, the Macán Clásico shows great chromatic intensity, denoting its youth and vitality. Its medium-high layer suggests good concentration and structure.
Nose: On the nose, this wine is elegant and complex. The first aromas reveal fresh red fruits such as raspberry and cherry, followed by notes of black fruits such as blackberry and blueberry. The aging in French oak barrels provides delicate touches of vanilla, cocoa and spices, along with subtle notes of tobacco and leather, which integrate perfectly with the fruity aromas.
Palate: In the mouth, the Macán Clásico is balanced and round. The entry is smooth, with fine, well-integrated tannins that provide a velvety texture. The flavors of red and black fruits combine with spicy and toasted notes, offering a rich and complex palate. Its well-balanced acidity provides freshness, and the finish is long and persistent, leaving an elegant and refined aftertaste.
