Niepoort Tawny is a sweet wine with Porto Denomination (Douro, Portugal), made with the grape varieties Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Port, Sousao, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Francisca, and Tinto Cão. Through five generations, the company has successfully passed from one Niepoort family member to the next. The Niepoort cellars are located in Vila Nova de Gaia. Surrounded by other Porto wineries, where Niepoort wines age in barrels. In the same cellars, aging in small wooden barrels takes place for an average of 3.5 years, bottling, and labeling of Niepoort wines.
It is a fresh, smooth, balanced, and easy-to-drink port. With an earthy, dark color, due to contact with wood.
