Les Camades, a red wine rooted in the prestigious Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOQ) Priorat in Spain, invites us to immerse ourselves in the very essence of this unique wine region. Made with an exquisite combination of grapes, including 50% Cariñena, 35% Garnacha Noir, 10% Syrah, 3% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, Les Camades is a testament to the diversity and winemaking craftsmanship of Priorat.
This exceptional wine comes to life from vineyards surrounding the charming village of Torroja del Priorat. The unique terroir of Les Camades consists of brown slate soils, intermingled with clay-limestone and alluvial deposits. The vines, approximately thirty years old, are cultivated with sustainable agricultural practices, paving the way towards the organic certification currently in process.
The making of Les Camades reflects a passion for authenticity and quality. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in small 500-liter food-grade plastic tanks, with continuous maceration for eight to fourteen days. The must is then pressed to finish fermentation. The wine gracefully ages in 500-liter terracotta amphorae and 225-liter French oak barrels for fourteen months, allowing its flavors to develop and harmoniously integrate.
