The Reineta apple has a white and slightly sandy flesh, with a bittersweet taste and a somewhat golden color that resembles muscatel. It is an apple with slightly thicker skin and less water than other varieties, but with a firmer texture and very aromatic, which makes it an ideal fruit for roasting, making desserts, and compotes. It has a long lifespan and although the flesh tends to turn brown easily due to its high iron content, it usually does not spoil but instead concentrates its flavor.
