Flatfish. Oval body, wide and robust. Eyes on the right side of the body. Caudal fin not attached to the dorsal and anal fins. Pectoral fin on the blind side with only 2-3 rays. The lateral line describes a pronounced S-curve on the head. Coloration uniform chestnut brown on the ocular side, white on the blind side; fins, on the ocular side, with a weakly marked dark band, black and brown spots and a white fillet; on the blind side, dark blue border almost black very marked. Up to 45 cm long
