Taragüi Yerba Mate is an infusion made with stems under the strictest quality controls, gluten-free and without T.A.C.C. (gluten). The infusion made with yerba mate leaves (Ilex paraguariensis), a plant native to Paraguay and Uruguay, is called mate. These plants, previously dried, cut, and ground, form the yerba mate. It has a bitter taste due to its tannins. It has a stimulating effect as it contains caffeine, and it is also considered a digestive and purifying infusion, in addition to being rich in antioxidants.
Traditionally, it is drank hot through a straw called bombilla placed in a small container, called calabash among other names, depending on the region.
Instructions:
Fill the calabash with yerba mate three-quarters full, cover it with your hand, and shake it with the mouth facing downwards, making the yerba lean on the calabash at approximately 45º.
Moisten the yerba with warm water (not boiling) in the small cavity that formed on one side of the mate. Wait for it to be absorbed, fill it again, and only then place the bombilla against the wall and do not move it anymore.
To make a good mate, it is very important to heat the water without boiling it, it should not exceed 75 ºC.
Important, progressively fill, infusing only half and keeping the other part dry to prolong the round.
Ingredients:
100% yerba mate.
