The Macallan No. 6 is an ode to the first-filled oak casks manufactured by the Coopers Masters of Jerez de la Frontera.
These "boots" or casks have been aged with fragrant sherry wines and then filled with The Macallan distillate from a single year. It is presented in a decanter designed and manufactured with the exquisite craftsmanship of Lalique, with its own numbering.
The result in a timeless, elegant and classic The Macallan.
The Macallan No. 6 is "Spanish Sunset" color. The Spanish oak barrels provide wonderful elegant notes, rich and subtle raisins. Then the dates and figs appear while the manazanas sultanas and toffee add texture and depth. Presence of ginger and cinnamon are hinted to say goodbye with sensations of black chocolate and sweet vanilla.
Dense and sumptuous palate. As in an intense fruit cake, figs, raisins and dates appear along with fresh, citrus touches of apples and oranges. It is then that ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and slight reminiscences of cloves open their way. The Oak notes, we are like velvet, soft and elegant.
