Created by Sabine and François, Vermouth Rouge Léonce is the second product launched in the range and completes the heritage of the distiller Léonce Récapet, François' great-great-grandfather. For more than 20 years, François has been sublimating the terroirs of Languedoc-Roussillon (Southwest of France) on his properties of Mas Janeil, Château des Erles and Domaine du Ministre. He chose a red wine from a geographical appellation, the Maury, as the heart of Léonce Rouge. It is a Vermouth intended as a wine, with an assemblage of several vintages of Maury that express the complexity and richness of this unique terroir in Roussillon and also sublimates the balance of aromas.
Naturally sweet, the Maury is then enriched with alcoholates. These are natural extracts of citrus fruits (grapefruit, orange, lemon...), Mediterranean herbs (hyssop, blessed thistle, tencrium...), spices (juniper, star anise, tonka bean, hot bell pepper...) and aromatic plants (verbena, angelica, centaurea, énula, wormwood...) obtained from macerations or distillations. Léonce introduces a unique character that in turn is inserted in the tradition of French Vermouths
