The Red Wine La Val Sousón from La Val, presents this Red Wine from D.O Rías Baixas (Spain), made from the Sousón grape variety.

Cultivation

TheRed Wine La Val Sousón pcomes from vineyards cultivated in an area of 35 hectares, where a clay soil with abundant pebbles and a characteristic microclimate of the County, which make the grape ripening is excellent.

This is a variety historically cultivated in Condado do Tea under the name of Retinto. Variety of long cycle, small cluster and medium low productivity, it is called to be one of the great grapes of Galicia. With it, very aromatic wines of deep color and great freshness are produced.

Bodegas La Val was born in 1985, becoming one of the pioneering brands of the Designation of Origin Rías Baixas. Initially located in the municipality of O Rosal, on the banks of the river Miño, the estate called La Val, originally cultivated the varieties of Albariño, Loureiro and Treixadura.

Making

Manual harvest collected in 20 kg boxes. Complete destemming and cold pre-fermentation maceration. Slow fermentation at 22 ºC and malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels from Allier where it remains 6 months with batonnages of its lees. Clarification and natural stabilization. The bottle may contain some precipitate.

It is a fresh, round and balanced wine, ideal for pairing with pasta such as pasta allo scogglio, baked and grilled fish such as bonito, white meats or poultry and cold meats.
