The Mirlo White Wine from Bodega Alegre Wines & Spirits presents this white wine from the Rueda Designation of Origin, made from 100% Verdejo grapes.
This wine is a tribute to the quintessential variety of the La Seca (Valladolid) area. A wine made with passion, the perfect balance between barrel fermentation and freshness, mouth-coating richness and acidity.
The grapes come from a vineyard with old vines between 50 and 70 years old, planted in bush vines. The vines, in the historic framework known as Tresbolillo, are grouped in clusters of five.
The soil is loamy-clay, covered with rounded cobblestones, and is essential for achieving quality grapes. The surface sands (due to their proximity to the river, at 700 meters altitude) and the continental climate with its strong day-night temperature contrasts imbue the grapes with their character.
Elaboration: Half of the fermentation takes place in 300-500 liter barrels, and the other half in stainless steel tanks, where the wine rests on its fine lees for 5 months, until the two wines are blended. The wood is used to round out the wine, to give it structure, not to disguise it with woody aromas.
