Bodegas Clos Galena presents us with the White Wine Formiga de Seda from the Designation of Origin D.O.Q. Priorat (Spain), made from a blend of 60% Garnacha Blanca and 40% Viognier grapes.

The White Wine Formiga de Seda is a gem of organic viticulture, made with 60% Garnacha Blanca and 40% Viognier. The grapes come from five of our fourteen ecological vineyard plots, carefully selected based on soil type and vine adaptation, with a limited production of 0.5 kg per vine.

The harvest is done manually, ensuring the selection of grapes in optimal conditions, transported in 15 kg boxes to the winery to preserve their integrity and quality.

In the winemaking process, each grape variety is manually selected and undergoes a cold maceration for 5 hours to extract subtle aromas and flavors. Subsequently, a portion of the wine ferments in tanks, where it undergoes aging on lees to add texture and complexity, while the other portion ferments and ages in French oak barrels for 5 months, adding notes of vanilla and structure to the wine.

The 5-month aging in new French oak barrels brings elegance and character to the White Wine Formiga de Seda, complementing its floral and fruity aromas with hints of spices and a subtle toastiness.

This wine is presented as a sophisticated and balanced expression of Garnacha Blanca and Viognier varieties, with an aromatic palette that includes notes of white flowers, peach, and almond. On the palate, it is fresh and creamy, with well-integrated acidity and a persistent finish.
