What does it mean for the Ham to have 2 Montaneras
Not everyone can boast of Hams with double montanera.
Some of our pigs reach double the age of the rest of the 100% Ibérico pigs, which is why they spend double the time in montanera, 2 montaneras, double the acorn intake compared to a normal ham.. Can you imagine a 200% Acorn-fed ham? Well, we have it for you.

How many packets come in the sliced pieces?:
Tired of buying sliced hams without knowing how many packets they will send you? At Don Ibérico we know that not all hams are the same, so we have decided to offer you two options for sliced ham, a whole ham that equals 38 packets or half a ham that equals 19 packets

Does my ham have a lot of fat
100% Ibérico Acorn-fed ham always has a layer of external fat (yellow fat) higher than the rest of Ibérico hams. Thanks to this layer, the ham can withstand all the necessary months for proper curing.
The total use of the ham can vary between 38% and 44%.
This means that not all pieces are the same and it can vary up to half a kg of meat up or down in an 8kg ham and that it is normal for there to be about 3.2kg of meat left in an 8kg ham once we have removed the bone and external fat.
Usually, the larger the ham, the higher % of meat it will have.
However, if you believe that the performance of your ham is clearly lower than these percentages, do not hesitate to contact us
